From: kim on 6 May 2008 15:35 hi, I need to "evaluate" a web site with regards to usability, SEO, browser checks, accessibility level etc so I wonder if anyone know of a pre made test sheet or likewise? Thanks -- Kim --------------------------- http://www.geekministry.com

Thanks Usability and Accessibility can be quite subjective and dependant on a lot of particular variables, so it's hard to auto-check those, though there is software/checklists/guidelines for that. some links: http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/full-checklist.html http://www.webaim.org/standards/508/checklist.php SEO I'm not so sure about. Though if your site is accessible, it should be semantic, and being semantic goes a long way towards SEO. -Darrel

I guess what I'm really looking for is something more general. The problem is that almost every thing in the book is wrong with this site(s). The classical dropdown behind flash, not a sign of headings, almost no content, pale text on white background and so on. My main problem is I've to do this for 9 sites and if there was a check list... something to get me organised. That's what I'm looking for. > > SEO I'm not so sure about. SEO sucks and the source is a wonderful mix of divs/tables/inline js and 16 billion span tags ;) Oh yes... there is plenty to write about. I just need to get it organised.
