It's pretty obvious that George is a functional illiterate. The more interesting question is exactly what is going on when he represents something correctly. That is the more unusual situation, so it should be easier to explain. When George gets something right is it because: (1) Someone smart reads them for George and explains them to him, say like Michael Gaster? (2) George infrequently posts sober, but this is one of the few times he is actually sober? (3) The meaning of the post was so clear and basic that even an 8 year-old mind could comprehend it?
