No, that didn't work either. Whichever method I choose from Reports, New
etc. they all come up with expr1, expr2 etc.

This has only just happened, as I did a report about two weeks ago with no
problems.

When I look at my table, it has the proper fields e.g. initial, surname,
address 1 etc.

I took over this database about 4 years ago - as a 60 something pensioner
acting as secretary for our art club - so only have the most basic computer
knowledge!!!

Any other ideas please? I have reports to do for mid-August for our Art
Exhibition.

If you select new Report->Design View and select a table, you never see
column names until you open the field list.

If you have this issue with all tables/reports in your MDB, try see what
happens if you create a new MDB. If that works, you might have corruption in
your MDB. I would create a new, blank MDB file and import everything from the
original MDB.

Just wanted to say thank you for trying to help

Still having problems, but discovered that the fields do come up when I try
to do a report for the whole database, but not when I try to do reports for
different classes of people in the database. (which I used to be able to do,
as there are queries for each class already in place)

Think the problem may have arisen when I changed computer and went over to
Vista - and something has got corrupted moving it all over.

So I have got around it by doing a report for the whole table, separated
into the different classes! Not quite want I wanted, but it will do for now!
Will try to work out how to open a new database and transferring the
information over to that later.

Thanks again. Rosie in sussex
