MS is always working toward new versions of their OS, browser, and
Office products. What that roadmap may be, I don't know. I believe the
'next' item due for an upgrade is IE, not the OS. Vista just came out
and usually there is at least three years between OS releases.

There's no way to tell what problems Authorware may have on upcoming
versions of Windows, of course, until someone has a version to test with.

Last I 'heard' was that a new full OS version isn't planned for release
until at least 5 years after Vista was released. I've no idea how many
interim releases are planned (Service Packs).

Meantime, MS will continue to tweak Vista ... there's a new version of
Internet Explorer in beta now. Due out next year, I think. perhaps that's
the root of what you heard?

Microsoft's next Windows version is tentatively scheduled to be released late next year, which will be about 3 years from the initial release of Vista.

Cool.

Given the delays on XP and Vista, I'll find it remarkable if Windows 7 comes
around so soon.

Plus - MS still has a lot of work ahead convincing the cynical piublic that
Vista is not the Devil Incarnate. They just managed it With XP in time for
the Vista release ... }:-)

It wouldn't surprise me if the accelerated schedule for 7 is a direct result
of the UA problems with Vista. They need to replace it faster than normal.
Remember Windows 98? :-)
It also won't surprise me if it's finally released 18 months after the
projected date. :-o
