Is there software that will play wmv files on the Mac? VLC and Quicktime
just snear at it.

VLC normally copes. There's also Flip4Mac (commercial, but very cheap
for just the viewer) which acts as a plug-in to Quicktime, and
Microsoft's own Windows Media Player for the Mac.

Not sure if Flip4Mac handles wmv 10 files though. I know the other two don't.

Cheers,
Ian

MPlayer? Neither VLC nor MPlayer have ever had problems with my WMV files
unless they're corrupt.

If all else fails, what about Windows Media Player from MS?

They won't play WMV3 files unfortunately, which means we are lumbered
with the official Media Player which is an astonishing CPU hog. I've had
mixed results with FLip4Mac, some of them seem to play much better than
with Media Player, some slightly worse.

This certainly seems to run WMVs when VLC won't.
