From: Fei on 13 May 2008 21:50 I uses my own customized calendar called MyCalendar1 for my project. In this calendar I defined 7.5hours/working day. But when I switch Resource Usage view my tasks are split up in 8hours/working day, why is this?

When you created your customized calendar, did you set up the shift hours under "From" and "To", (Tools/Change Working Time), to total 7.5 hours? If not you need to do that. Also, if you have any customized resource calendars, they must also be set up for 7.5 hour shifts. Changing the Hours per day under Tools/Options/Calendar will only affect how Project displays days in the Duration field. It does NOT set the working shift for 7.5 hours. To properly set up a 7.5, (or any other custom work day), you need to set both the shift work times and and hours per day to be consistent. Hope this helps. John Project MVP
From: Fei on 13 May 2008 23:52 thanks John, very helpful response. When I got into (Tools/Change Working Time) and select the customized calendar, I see on the right "Working times for 14 May 2008: *08:00 to 12:00, *13:00 to 17:00". but when I click on button Option on the bottom, my Default Start Time is 08:30, Default End Time is 16:00. the Hours per day is 7.50. As I realized the difference but I couldn't find a way to fix it. Any idea? thanks in advance "John" wrote: > In article <61BCC7C0-9D21-40C5-9C5C-93B7361DC867(a)microsoft.com>, > Fei <Fei(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > I uses my own customized calendar called MyCalendar1 for my project. The easiest way to do that is to click and drag the "M" through "F" heading (assuming a normal workweek) and then change the shift times as desired. That will select all work days for all months and they will then show as "nondefault working time". Under Tools/Options/Calendar, set the default start and end times to agree with whatever you use for the shift times. Hope this helps.
