Hello,

I have 2 laptops.
Laptop one is a Dell Inspiron 5100 with a D-Link DWL-G650 wireless card. OS
is XP pro sp2
Laptop two is a Dell Inspiron 6000 with an Intel PRO/wirelss 2915 internal
adapter reported to support 802.11 a/b/g OS is XP home sp2

I am connecting to a DI-624 router, hardware rev c, firmware rev 2.53

Here is my scenario.
I am able to connect both laptops to the router using WEP 128 bit
encription. No problems, no issues.
When I attempt to enable WPA using a WPA-PSK, the Dell 5100 connects fine,
the 6000 says it's connected and is unable to obtain a valid ip address.

The 5100 uses Wireless Zero config provided by XP.
I've tried using the Intel wireless config utility as well as Wireless Zero.
Still no joy.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what the issue is with the lack of WAP
on the 6000?

Hi,
As you probably have noticed, the Intel config utility has
troubleshooting tools: packet counters, logging.
Try to use them to investigate.

Try cloning the mac address and setting the ip address manually. Rather than
allowing the router to set the address. Make sure SSID is enabled.

Let Windows XP SP2 mange your wireless.

Make sure there is no firewall preventing the connection.
