From: Leona K. on
Good Morning,

I am still having problems and still waiting for this no charge support to
reply back to me. This is going on to long now wiaitng for them. I emailed
them 2 -3 times regarding my resultes of annies response.. and they STILL
have NOT responded. I wonder if it IS BECAUSE it is a NO CHARGE support
they do not hurry to help ?! And to top it all off, it is THIER UPDATES
that messed up this computer in the first place. and now they just ignore
the support requests?!

I have another issue now.. I can NOT INSTALL NET FRAMEWORK 1.1 now... I
READ that i have to download all the frameworks ALL frameworks all over
again. Even the Service pack ones from 1.0 to 3.5 (and everything in
between).. Because theUPDATE PAGE can nNOT install an older one over tiop of
a NEWER ONE... .. Why didnt they put them so the update page would have
showed them to install in order if that was the case.. I had 1.0, 2.0 and
3.0 installed already .. and i CAN NOT get 1.1 which was JUST OFFERED to me
through the updates.

NOW i have to uninstall ALL of them to reinstall them in order. SOMETHING
that THEY messed up by releasing them through the update page, OUT of
order. And now they ignore my support request?!

I have to download ALl of them ALL over again and reinstall them in the
right order. And wtih DIAL UP.. thats not easy! Took me two days to
download them all and i am not even sure if i got the right ones. So i email
them again. They do NOT respond to my questions about THAT or the other TWO
UPDATES i am STILL having problems installing.

I hope to get some assistance SOON. if anyone could help i appreciate it.
I am going to try to repair the NETFRAMEWORK updates today. Hoefully that
will work THAT ONE issue out. I , then will respond back HERE on this
forum, with my results of the net framework repair since i am not getting
anywhere with the NO CHARGE SUPPORT.

Sincerely,

L.K.

Open a new support incident via email or call the toll-free support number.
No matter how you do it, state the SRX number of your original support
incident.

PS: While we all empathize with you, griping about it in replies to this
newsgroup isn't going to help. No one here works for or represents
Microsoft.

From: Leona K. on
Good Morning, NO i wasnt "griping" at anyone here. I was just saying that
i was frustrated waiting for them to respond and i was just hoping that maybe
somone ON here could help me since i wasnt getting help the other way, that's
all. I am sorry if it made it sound like i was "GRIPING" My apologizes. :-(

Anyways i spent all day downloading the DOT NET FRAMEWORK versions...
took all day but i managed to get them all installed. It seems to be
working.. HOPEFULLY. It was weired that i had ALL versions except 1.1
installed on this machine and then all of a sudden i get the 1.1 updqate.
But I couldnt install it cause i had to remove all the other first and
reinstall them in order. Anyways that seemedto work, it took two days to
download them all! But i did it!

I am going to do another update check this moring to see if it is working.
I know the other two main updates that i am still having problems with wont
install.. Does anyone know if it could be the MS OFFICE WORD VEIWER 2003
that could be messing them other two up?!

Thank you in advanced.

Sincerely

L.K.

Did you run ProcMon to trace the install? It should show you whether an
install log was created and where it exists (or why it doesn't exist.)

That depends on the version of WU/AU and WUC that you would have been
using. The most recent versions all trace to WindowsUpdate.log.
