I am trying to configure autodiscover on a second web site. I have created
the second site with its own dedicated IP and ran the
new-autodiscoveryvirtual directory. I have assigned a unique cert to the
second site. I have set the SCPs for both internal and external to:
https://autodiscover.domain.com. However, when I run test-outlookwebservices
| fl, I get the following:

"ID 1013
Type: Error
Message: When contacting
https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml received the
error The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized

ID 1006
Type: Error
Message: Failed to contact AutoDiscover"

When I try to go to the URL internally, the page just times out. I have
done an IIS reset and still no go.

Also, when I run get-outlookprovider, I get three names (exch, expr and web)
and no servers are assingned to them. Do I need to set Exch to my
autodiscover host server? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Just as an update, I set the outlookprovider using the following syntax:

set-outlookprovider -id exch -server servername

Afterwards, I tried to run:

set-outlookprovider -id exch -ssl:$true and it returns "A parameter cannot
be found that matches parameter name 'ssl'.

How do I go about setting SSL for exch in the outlook provider list?

So now if I do a Test E-mail Configuration on internal Outlook 2007 clients,
they find the autodiscover url without any trouble. However, when I run the
test-outlookwebservices, I still get the "error when contacting autodiscover
url" and error 1006 failed to contact autodiscover.

I am having the exact same 1013 (401) Unauthorized error. I also setup a
second website via IIS and then added the autodiscover virtual directory via
powershell as directed - I then proceeded to remove the original autodiscover
virtual directory under the default web site also following the technet
documentation but still have errors.

Domain joined computers find and autodiscover their settings quickly while
those that are not joined or remote do not. The SCP internal URL set via
set-clientaccessserver is exactly the same as teh autodiscover internal and
external urls i.e
https://autodiscover.mydomain.edu/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has anybody come across a fix for this yet?
