1. NETBIOS name and DNS name of Exchange servers the same

2. The EDB file of Exchange 2003 changed to the name of Exchange 2007

Question:

Can I just copy over or restore Exchange 2003 DB into Exchange 2007?

Hi
I don't think so because a Exchange 2003 database consists a *.edb file AND
the *.stm file. The *.stm file doesn't exist in Exchange 2007 anymore.

Nope.

Don't forget, 2003 store is a edb and stm file.
2007 no longer has stm files

Uh, no.

There are some third party tools out there that can exract from the 2003 edb
file and stuff the contents into 2007. It has the same net effect but costs
more. See Quest or Ontrack.

Exchange 2003 and 2007 are different databases. You will need to upgrade.
