Hi, I'm trying to get my new EPSON Perfection v100 Photo to work, it is
not supported by SANE, so I want to try the avasys driver. But scanimage
-L detects my TV-Card and not my scanner, how can I fix this??? TIA, Max.

I'm sorry, it's fixed I had to install
iscan-plugin-gt-s600-2.0.0-1.c2.i386 as well and iscan works OK now.

Are you satisfied with the V100 scanner and the iscan program?

I am going to order the same product...

1) any particular reason that particular model?

2) I've had wonderful experiences ordering refurb stuff from the Epson
online store.

This scanner is very good value for money. For documents and photo's it
is OK, but I mainly use it to scan slides. It has enough resolution for
me, but if you want to scan slides for serious archiving, the resolution
is just a little bit too low. Color and contrast are excellent.

You need to (force) install the iscan program, because is comes with the
only driver for Linux, there is no other driver at the moment. I have
compared the, xsane and iscan today, and the results are almost the
same, if not better, as with the win-epson-scan program that comes with
the scanner.

So, as a driver you use the one that comes with iscan, and as a frontend
you can use iscan, xsane or kooka. Iscan does quite well, but is fairly
simple, kooka is too simple for scanning graphics. Xsane is the best of
the three programs, you can tweak just about any setting with it, the
only drawback is it does not have the automatic selection/separation of
the slide frames (as with the win-program) which is quite a nuisance,
because you have to select every frame manually before you scan it.

So does anyone know if there is a program will select/cut the frames??
