Hello,

I am having a problem with some emails in that Eudora isn't handling
the attachments correctly.

If I right click the attachment and select "Open", a blank new window
opens up with the window title "nullEudora 8.0 Beta 8"

If I right click the attachment and select "Save As", the progress
bar briefly shows something happening but ultimatately nothing happens
(ie no save as dialogue appears and nothing is saved)

If I right click the attachment and select "Detach", the attachment
is correctly detached (removed) from the message but nothing is saved
to file and the attachment is gone for good.

It doesn't happen on all attachments but base64 encoded attachments
with .eml file extensions seem to be where it's happening.

Is this a known issue?

Incidentally, if I have a look at the same message with zimbra webmail
while it's still on the server, I can see the forwarded messages and
download the attachments okay so this is definitely down to Eudora.

Below is a typical attachment which isn't handling correctly.

The developers are handling bugs that are submitted to Bugzilla,
links to which may be found at:

"Bug Reports and Enhancement Requests"
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Penelope

One can search bug reports and submit them,
both for Thunderbird and "Eudora 8"

Has anyone tried sending an encrypted S/MIME message
from Thunderbird (or E8) to anyone receiving via classic Eudora?

Probably not, because Thunderbird omits an essentially required
parameter from the header of the attached encrypted message,
and Eudora's S/MIME plugin does not then recognize the message.

This S/MIME bug is due to Thunderbird, but "Eudora 8"
inherits all of Thunderbird's bugs, by default :-(

Thanks. I'll try reporting it.

Incidentally, if I forward the message (without sending) and save it
into the drafts folder, with "display attachments inline" enabled on
the view menu, I can read, save and detach the files okay from there.
