As far as I know php dropped the support for VC6 with 5.3, and the official
builds are done via VC9, but are there any objection against VC8 builds for
the extensions as long as they are forking fine with the VC9 php build?

Pierre could you add the extension to your unofficial pecl repository?
If not, then we should create a wiki pages, which lists the unofficial repos
for the "missing" extensions.
