firewall inactive, use router - never had a virus.
Firefox 3.04
AVG 8.0.200

Personally I don't care for the tabs. How do I get
rid of them? I realise they save memory but I have
loads of memory, and memory has never been a
problem.

I'm never going to learn, or want to learn, these keyboard shortcuts

That's not an answer. They appear even though Options=>Tabs=>
New pages should be opened in: "A new window"

Yes, of course :)

Actually, I'm trying out add-on "showcase" to manage tabs,
to see if I can live with them.
