Going thru my Event Viewer (Administrative Tools, Win XP Pro), I find
there many warning massages due probably to my Norton AV scanning,
saying such as:"Could not scan 3 files inside C:\Documents and
Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp\CC295.tmp due to extraction errors
encountered by the Decomposer Engines." Other masseges are the same
using similar names of tmp files such as CC296.tmp, CCB07.tmp, etc.
Source - Symantec AntiVirus
This is going on for a long time, and many masseges every day.
I tried hard but can't find these files manually, neither in a system
search.
Do you have any idea? what is the effect of these files and how do i
find and get rid of them?
Many thanks

If they were temp files they should have been removed / deleted when the
program that created them closed or you re booted your PC. And if not when
you ran Disk Cleanup
Don't worry about them

Try this:
- Click Start / Run
- Type the three letters cmd and press Enter.
- Type this command and press Enter:
del /s /aRHS "%temp%\*.tmp"
If this does not work, repeat the process in Safe Mode.
