In Windows Word 2007, in "out line view," I constructed an outline. I'm
unable to add a typical out line number scheme, such as

I
A
B
II
A
B
C

Thanks much

Have you tried applying the I, A, 1 scheme from the multilevel list dialog?
By default, this is linked to the built-in heading styles.

Thanks much

On the Home tab, click on the arrow next to the Multilevel List button in
the Paragraph group, and then click on the pane that shows the numbering you
want. Once you have applied it, you can go back and use Define New
Multilevel List to refine the numbering at any level or to link the levels
to different styles.

> Thanks much for the additional instructions. However, I remember how easy it was to construct an outline in an earlier version of Windows Word, most likely
the 2003 version. Is it possible to down load the 2003 version, in which
case I will have both versions on my HP Pavilion desk top ( 64 bit )

Thanks again
