KB868461 fails on copying spmsg.dll

So I downloaded the update, closed everything (even stopped my virusscanner) and then ran the file named WindowsXP-KB898461-x86-NLD.exe. First, it gave me the same dialog about spmsg.dll I described earlier. Then it went on to think for a while, showing it was working on SPMSG.DLL.REF and then asked me to place 'Windows updates source cd' - or something like that - and continue, by default suggesting to search the folder c:\d6cd50c3c5473992a0064df7d8f3a6. It kept doing that, I didn't change the dir by lack of a better idea, so in the end I clicked "Cancel" and then it cancelled the entire update (I found that line in the log). Below is the excerpt from the log file - this time I translated the relevant parts in square brackets.
