I want to pension off my 4 year old desktop and purchase a laptop with good
video editing capabilities.

I use VEGAS 7 video editing software.

Any experienced users who can suggest a suitable laptop - preferably with
firewire as standard?

does VEGAS 7 run in Win 7 64 bit mode ?

how much money do you have ?

If it does make sure you get one with large amount of memory and a good
quick cpu

You will get much better bang for buck from a new desktop rather than a laptop.

64 bit mode is very important as well as you can then used over 4 gig of
memory which is very advantageous when video editing
