Hi, It seems like you have tried a lot of things.&nbsp; Could you tell us what kind of computer is this?&nbsp; Have you seen this behavior on multiple machines, or does this behavior occur only on this computer?&nbsp; Have you tried to change the configuration settings as well?<img src="http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/b9107a7f281f9b408625720b0078e5a8/$FILE/services.JPG"> When you restart your computer, does the configuration manager stop automatically?Thanks,

I'm also working with tech support and R&amp;D on this, but they have not mentioned the configuration manager.&nbsp;
I have determined that I can successfully start MAX only when I am connected to my office network.&nbsp; When I am away from the network, I get the error.&nbsp; All the other things I had tried before (re-installing drivers, recovering the data folder, etc) were not the reason MAX worked, it was because I was re-connected to my office network at the time.
I currently have MAX running as I started it upon leaving the office and don't want to close it until I can get back to the office again (I have a remote office).&nbsp; Currently the configuration mangaer is running.&nbsp; I have not tried changing any settings.&nbsp; What might I change?&nbsp;
My feeling is that it is searching for something that happens to be on the network.&nbsp; Since I am not connected, it can't find it, and doesn't start.
