Hi
Should one uninstall Windows Defender before installing Microsoft Security
suite or would Window Defender compliment the Security suite? Thanks.

Although this doesn't exactly answer your question here's a little info
I've found:

Earlier this week in WinXP Pro sp3 through Microsoft Security Essentials
I was offered an update for MSE, which I installed. Everything is fine
except I discovered that Windows Defender was turned off and disabled
during the update process. Through Google I discovered several forum
threads and articles that basically said Defender is not needed with MSE
(duplication of realtime malware detection) and could possibly cause a
conflict if both are active.

Also, on my Win7 Ultimate machine I was offered the same update and
installed it, all is fine with it. In Win 7, Windows Defender was
disabled when I initially installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

My take is that with MSE installed and active, Defender is not needed
(or at least not active).

If I'm mistaken I hope that someone will chime-in with correct info.

As a side note, MSE is not the only AV/malware programs I have; I do
periodical scans with SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes' AntiMalware.

I have made the same observation, deduction and am glad of your
confirmation.

Agreed. Never did like defender too much.

None of those actually scan your email for virus AFIK.
