From: aRKay on 7 Jul 2010 22:45 I just ordered a OCZ Technology 4 GB Diesel USB 2.0 FLASH DRIVE http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/flash_drives/ocz_diesel_usb_2_0_fla sh_drive for use with my iMac and MacBook Pro both running 10.6.4 and wonder if I will have to format the drive?

Mac OS X has no trouble reading and writing that format. However, you may find it advantageous to reformat the volume as HFS+ if you think that you are going to be using the flash drive exclusively on Macintosh computers. -- Mac GUI Vault - A source for retro Apple II and Macintosh computing. http://macgui.com/vault/

It just showed up via UPS and it formatted as MS-DOS (FAT32) and the OS X Disk Utility says Partition Map Scheme : Master Boot Record. Since I no longer own a PC and do not have to deal with Windows, I may reformat it as a Mac drive.

Advisable! -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts. JR
