From: BeeJ on 6 Jun 2010 15:10 I am using Windows Live as my newsreader for M$. (yes, I am here at Eternal September too using the same Windows Live). I have WL set to download all headers and bodies. BUT, when M$ removes a newsgroup, it also seems to delete all my downloaded headers and bodies. Is that normal? Can that be stopped? Where is the data being saved on my disk so that I might retain/hide/copy it? Am I wrong or is M$ messing with my computer without my consent. Hope the EU gets wind of this. OK so an unlinked double post, but most likely everyone is here and not over there.

For the time being I'm staying in both groups. I don't see any reason to consider this group the exclusive new place to be. Anyone new who searches for groups on a non-MS NNTP server will probably still find -- and post to -- microsoft.public.*

That is normal, for a Microsoft application, yes. "All your base belong to us", and all, huh? If you'd like to keep a record of what's still on those groups, I'd either tell your reader to stop going there *now*, or get a real newsreader. I've been pointing folks to MesNews for awhile now.
