Hi there,

1. When you "Save As", make sure to save in the Office 97-2003
compatibility format. That will change it to .doc

2. To change document spacing, go to Page Layout and then Paragraph.

I hope this helps!

To change the save default - Click File, Options, Save and change the "Save
files as this format" to Office 97-2003 type. This can be done in every one
of the Office programs (Excel, Word, PPT) individually.

To change the default line spacing, open a blank Word document. Click Home
tab (if not already there) then the drop down arrow on the lower right
corner of Paragraph. In the new window that opens set the Indents and
Spacing tab information, Line spacing: to Single and Spacing before and
after to 0 pt. Click Set as Default and then Click OK. Close the Word and
restart and the new line spacing should be set.

Let us know if this solves your issues.
