From: Mike Lane Mike on
I realize this is not the Project Server forum but there is no Project Server
forum and Project Server is closest to Sharepoint in my view so here goes...

I have successfully installed both Project Server and SQL Server on a
stand-alone WinSrv2003 Standard Server. Clients (Project Pro 2003) can log
in to the website, they can modify settings. I am doing NOTHIN unusual in my
config. Everything is default and all new installs.

The problem (after resolving several others re: default security) is when
the clients go to publish their projects, they get a logon dialog, they enter
their credentials (Project Server Account, not Windows integrated) and are
prompted with ANOTHER and DIFFERENT looking logon dialog. No errors or
messages of any kind, just another logon. I've tried every possible logon I
can think of and I know all possible usernames and passwords in this
scenario, nothing but failed logon attempts in the second dialog.

Please help! Thanks.

One thing, project server news group does exist! and there are some
excellent MVPs in that group who are very knowledgable.

1. Are your clients using a different domain?
2. Did you add the project server's url to the trusted sites?
3. There are some settings that need to be done in Project professional. Did
your clients configure Project Professional properly?

For immediate help, subscribe to microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup!

Thanks

1. All on default "Workgroup", no AD
2. Yes
3. I think I set the Pro settings properly but I only followed the Project
Server 2003 Install Guide

I just wish I knew where this second dialog was coming from! It says nothing
but Username: Password: and even the error doesn't say anything but login
credentials incorrect!
