I just installed a slightly used WD 500 GB drive from an old computer in an
Antec enclosure as an external USB drive. Everything works except that only
55 GB of the disk is partitioned. The remainder is shown as unpartitioned.
How do I recover the full capacity? In DOS days I would have used FDisk but
it seems to be missing from XP. I am using Win XP Pro SP3. Any help greatly
appreciated.

Use the built-in Disk Management tool. Enter diskmgmt.msc in the
Start menu Run box to launch it.

Thanks for the help! it worked out fine. I didn't know that facility even
existed.
