Scandisk is a Windows 98 tool. Did you perhaps mean chkdsk? If so then you
can find its log in the Event Viewer (eventvwr.exe).

How did you run scandisk on Windows XP? Is this a third party application?

No, I do: double-click My Computer, then right-click the removable disk
icon, Properties, Tools, Error-checking.
I said "Scandisk" because in the italian version of XP there is: "Esegui
ScanDisk..." ("Run ScanDisk...").

When I scan the system disk, I find the log in: Event Viewer, Application,
Winlogon, Event ID 1001, but I don't see the log of the last scan that I did
on the removable disk.
