I have the same and exact problem but could not help myself

With a BSOD, the Hardware inside the cabinet never shuts down.

Whether it is OS faulty or the Chips ? Need your help
My config:-
Athlon II 240
Biostar TA785G3-HD
HDD - 320 WD
RAM - 2gb ddr3 (kingston)
PSU - Intex 450W (Legend)
