Is there anyway to do this with API? The control itself does not seem to have a wordwrap
property.

I can't imagine a toolbar button's (presumably you're talking about a
button) CAPTION being so long that you'd need it to wordwrap. Perhaps you
should provide a tooltip for the button and keep the caption much shorter.
