Unable to install 2 security updates

From: MSRX92 on 9 Dec 2009 10:22 I am running Vista Ultimate 64 (service pack 2) I got 2 security updates (KB967723 & KB972145) yesterday, but they won't install on my computer (code 80070490 unknown error.) I got 7 more security updates today that installed today without a problem, but the 2 from yesterday still won't install . Is this a known problem? Any suggestions on why these updates aren't installing?

E.g. using your web interface search tool, press Alt-7 and enter 0x80070490 MVP ... Looks like you could even use the Threads with helpful posts filter though you shouldn't rely on that because it is often misused by posters unhelpfully wanting to register a Me too! at the start of a "discussion" which is full of complainers with no details. > Any suggestions on why these updates aren't installing? So, as usual, you can't rely on a "code" to help you. You need to find the context of the code in other messages that the update may have issued, whether by being installed automatically or manually, with minimal logging or with verbose logging. I have Windows XP and two very imporant updates haven't installed this 3/4 months (KB953297) and service pack 1.1 |
