Don't exaggerate. This datasheet
http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c50.pdf was last updated in 1996.
In the early 1990s the TMS320c50 was a major platform for V.34 modems, and
into the late 90s a lot of V.90 modems were based on it.

Does this processor still exist as a core, or has it been
completely sunsetted?
