I have had to reinstall the drivers & etc. for my W98SE system after a HD
crash. I followed the process using the original CD that came with the
printer when I bought it new - several years ago.

All went as expected - until I was asked for the "key" that came with the
original purchase. Unfortunately, I have lost it sometime in the past
years since I bought the C 60.

Anybody out there have a Epson C60 and the magic 'key' that will allow it
to be used? .... and be willing to send it to me?

I can print .JPG files by copying them to a flash ROM card and then firing
up my UBUNTU Linux. It does not need the 'code' to access the printer ....
BUT, I cannot access the maintenance items [eg. clean the ink jets and
print a test the results] and at present the yellow jet is clogged!

Any help available????

ps. I will look for a reply here over the next few days.

I don't recall using a key on an Epson printer but why not try Epson
and download the Driver v6.1bA or Status Monitor 3 v3.0aE and see if
they will install without a key?

FWIW, I have the install CDs for an Epson Stylus 600 and an Epson
Stylus 760 and neither have a key on the case (though perhaps it is in
the contents of the CD, but you say you have that)

And the printer manual http://ftp.epson.com/pdf/sc60__/sc60__pb.pdf says
nothing about a special "key" being needed.
