I downloaded below files to install the solaris 10 on x86 and Sparc.

Questions for x86 PC: -- Should I burn all of the files as they are on
DVD?
-- Do I need to unzip sol-10-u8-companion-ga-iso.zip, then burn it on
DVD?

Downloaded Solaris 10 10/09 Operating System DVD Full for Solaris 10
OS, x64/x86, Multi-language
sol-10-u8-ga-x86-dvd.iso (2,444.69 MB)
sol-10-u8-companion-ga-md5sum.txt (0.40 KB)
sol-10-u8-ga-md5sum-x86.txt (0.58 KB)
sol-10-u8-companion-ga-iso.zip (634.45 MB)

Question for Sparc: -- The Sparc workstation only has the CD ROM. I
know that I have to unzip sol-10-
u8-ga-sparc-dvd-iso-a.zip and sol-10-u8-ga-sparc-dvd-iso-b.zip. Then
How
could I burn them to CD?
-- Do I have to unzip sol-10-u8-companion-ga-iso.zip before burn it on
CD?

There are (or at least there were) clear instructions on the download page.

The instruction is not clear for me. For this reason I asked my
questios from thsi group.
Some of the files are compressed (zipped). Do I need to uncompressed
(unzipped) them before burning on DVD or CD?
what would be the order for burning the files on CD?

Yes.

You don't burn ISOs as files.

You use your burning software to open the ISO image and burn the
complete image onto a DVD disk.

Basically, you only need to burn the sol-10-u8-ga-x86-dvd.iso as image
to create installation DVD for X86. The companion image include various
freeware software. the other two files are checksums that enable verify
that the downloaded files are valid.

Thanks,
Ariel.
