Trying wireless connection in home using laptop that has WinXP SP3
active and a Dell Wireless 1370 card. Have good wireless signal (54MB)
after setup each day. Find at restart computer in Run/services.msc
always has Windows Zero Configuration as Automatic but not Started.
Seems turning computer off takes it out of active Start status.
Result is no Wireless Networks tab at Ctl Panel/ Network
Connections/(right click)Wireless Network Connections/Properties so
can't designate Windows to be used.
Router is new Belkin N150 that operates this desktop with hardwire and
Belkin support is pointing finger here. Desktop connection is 10MB
download cable dynamic using Earthlink provided thru Bright House in
Central FL.
My non-tech capability points at laptop but no clue how to keep WZC as
Started so automatic connection will result. Had wireless network in
house with same one laptop about 2 -3 years ago and all was fine.
Linksys router at that time but setup CD will not spin (goes 'bump,
bump') so moved to the Belkin; all other CDs work fine.
Is there a fix???
