Hello,

I have Media Center 2002 and I recently installed SP3 and now the Media
Center does not work. The error says:

ehshell.exe - Strong name validation failed for assembly...

Is there a fix to this problem?

Thank you.

Computer Stops Responding or You Receive "Ehshell.exe - Common Language
Runtime Debugging Services" Error Message When You Perform Repetitive Tasks
in Media Center
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/820121

Were you getting the same error before you installed SP3?

Any particular reason you've waited two years before installing SP3?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running
in the background when you installed SP3?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the
computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Thank you. Someone gave me an older computer and I formatted and reinstalled
the O/S. The link below seems to be for the 2005 edition of Media Center.

I will try to service pack again.
