cell formatting in excel - more than 1 character at a time

From: patgo37 on 18 Feb 2010 19:09 all cells in excel 2003 are now accepting only 1 character, alpha or numeric when I go to type 2003 , for instance, the 2 shows, but then when I try to add the 0, the 2 disappears.
