Hi Tony

Just a check that you used the right ROM upgrade. I think there is a
different upgrade for the b model 2490 than the original. Are you sure yours
is a b? They are almost identical apart from the amount of flash aboard and
both are still in the retail channel.

I updated my 2190 original with no problems.

Otherwise, it sounds like dead hardware and time for a hassle with HP.

I think it is worth persisting with these machines.
