when i use the windows live safety scan on the clean up section it said i had
9 invalid registry entries and i should clear them i clicked fix but it only
cleared 5, tried again and it still would not clear the remaining 4.
it still tells me i should clear these so does anyone know how i can do this
please.

Reproducible results are a good thing. I'd be more nervous if the count
changed from cleanup to cleanup run without you changing something. It's
likely you don't have the necessary authority/permissions to delete those
keys. You'll have to expand the results using the "^" or "v" arrowheads on
the Results window to locate each key and then use Regedit to locate it and
check your permissions. See:

On the other hand, it probably isn't at all necessary to try to clean up
each of these "issues" in a modern Operating System's registry, and you very
well could do more harm than good by performing a risky registry edit in the
hope of slightly improved performance. Having a backup would be absolutely
essential.
