I have an email with several photos stuck in the outbox and all the usual
tricks won't get rid of it. What else can I try?

And what might the "usual tricks" be?

Click File and check Work Offline. Close and then restart Outlook. Delete
the message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.

If that doesn't work, try this:

I tried the work off line/delete trick, didn't work so tried your suggestion
but it is still in the outbox, I might take my lap top to my technician in
town to see if he can remove it, I am worried I will muck it all up. Thanks
for the help,

After selecting Work Offline, did you close Outlook completely and make sure
it wasn't running by examining the Processes tab in Task Manager and seeing
that OUTLOOK.EXE was gone? If you do that, Gordon's method _will_ work.
