SMP is no problem for me. What part of "the documentation"
makes it sound dodgy?

It just works straight out of the box with the generic kernel. No
special configuration necessary.

I'm running it on three different dual core machines, and a hyperthreaded
machine, here.

I'm a heavy user and have seen no issues...not even on the machine that
is the 'package farm'.
