I imagine it will, but especially if you qualify for a student licence
why not treat yourself to CS5? That and CS4 have 64-bit versions
which will make use of all the RAM I imaging you are putting on your
PC.

If you live in the UK the cheapest Open University course qualifies
you, the cost of the course and the software is far less than a retail
copy of the software, and there are some very good and interesting OU
courses around.
