dell's instructions for fuser replacement start out by stating you should
shut off the printer and wait 30 minutes. i have no idea if that is a truly
critical step or if it is a safety precaution as parts may be holding a
charge. either way it is unusual for them to have written it in their
instructions and there must have been some reason. since you mention that
others said to wait 15 minuets i suspect you haven't. probably should try
that before over analyzing this problem.
