From: Andy on 27 Oct 2006 10:55 Hi guys, I have an Aironet 1200 that keeps reloading, I have tried the escape button to go to the rommon, and tried as well to recover the image through the Mode button, both are not working. I can not access both the CLI and the web page due to the frequent reload. I might have done something wrong with the image name for downloading it, where the Aironet configuration Guide mentions that the image should have the following format : c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar while what I get after upload is: c1200-k9w7-mx.122-13.JA4.tar So I changed the mx into tar desperately, and still it could not find the image after the Mode button recovery. 1. From: Aaron Leonard on 27 Oct 2006 11:31 To recover this AP1200, I would do this: 1. Get an AP1200 image from CCO; use one of the following IOS versions: 12.3(7)JA4 12.3(8)JA2 12.3(8)JEA 2. Find a computer that you can play with, and put a known good TFTP server on it. I like the current Solarwinds server; if you have your own favorite, so much the better. 3. Put the new AP1200 image into the TFTP server's root direction; rename it to "c1200-k9w7-tar.default". 3. Address this computer's LAN adapter with 10.0.0.2. 4. Put this computer and the AP1200 on the same LAN. 5. Perform the mode button recovery procedure. If you still don't get things working as desired, go here for further instructions: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00804e7ce4.html Aaron --- ~ Hi guys, ~ I have an Aironet 1200 that keeps reloading, I have tried the escape ~ button to go to the rommon, and tried as well to recover the image ~ through the Mode button, both are not working. From: Andy on 27 Oct 2006 16:34 Hi, i did try it, and i did it twice, where the image got downloaded on the AP and extracted, but i still have the same problem, the AP keeps reloading. I do not want to rule it as a hardware failure yet.

The mode image load is to only recover the box and allow you to put the real image on it.
