It's not only available in the UK, but only one UK network provided the
service.

I'm not even certain whether ALS (alternate line service) is included in
the 3G specs, so would only be useful for customers using GSM only on a
network that still provides the facility.

Basically, what percentage of android users would require the feature? I
suspect it would be less than 1%

I didn't mean it was only available in the UK, just that only one UK
service provider offered it, how widespread it is in other countries I
don't know, and Orange's mad-as-a-box-of-frogs marketing dept has given
many users cause to move on ...
