Boot problem

Please do so in your next reply. What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)? From: Dave Mc on 6 May 2010 18:25 Not Windows 2007, Office 2007. I did not delete anything randomly, I used add/remove programs to uninstall Office 2007 and all items listed having to do with SQL. I did that because I was getting a warning that SQLDUMPER could not initialize. Yes, some people do not want W7 because they don't want to replace or upgrade certain apps crucial to their business even if they are old apps. I have decided to reinstall XP and start over. You may be onto something with the anti-virus question. The user had let theirs expire which may have caused this to begin with. I was just surprised when Last Known Good Configuration would let me boot up normally but then not being able to boot into WXP normal mode. I also did try to do a restore point to a dat before this started but it still rebooted endlessly. Back-up any personal data (none of which should be considered 100% trustworthy at this point) then format the HDD & do a clean install of Windows.
