Upgrading OO.o, right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing
Updating my testing system this morning, I noticed that OpenOffice was being upgraded, so I shut down my open spreadsheet. When configuring openoffice.org-writer2latex, aptitude complained "OpenOffice.org is running right now. This can cause problems with (de-)registration of components and extensions. Migrating to Grub2 deletes kernel automagic updates and other settings
> What always bothers me with boot loaders is that they need a system to configure & manage them. Now, in a multi-boot system, the next question is which one? 100% agreement. As much as I hate Apple, they got some of the boot loader right. Grub2 should follow their lead: build up (most of) the grub.cfg at... 4 Dec 2009 15:08

CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED
I was fixing a problem with my root login and Orbit/Gnome. One of the things that was recommended was to do apt-get upgrade && apt-get update Somehow in the process of doing that, there were some changes to the kernel. Migrating to Grub2 deletes kernel automagic updates and other settings
Howdie, fellow Debianites! I've just tried to install Grub2 to my spare Lenny installation. I am baffled (not to say disappointed) by the results: 1. -- kernel automagic configuration hasn't been copied over from the legacy menu.lst to the new grub.cfg 2. -- chainloader stanzas from the old menu.lst are like... 6 Dec 2009 09:31
