Big crowbar module for <4VDC?
Hello All, After modding a 5V linear to 3.3V I feel a bit iffy about the crowbar, considering the Dollar amount that is going to be connected to it. The original crowbar is partially under (!) a big electrolytic, a bear to modify. Plus it probably isn't a good one to begin with, couldn't see a TL431 in there... 21 Dec 2008 16:46
Ultra-simple discrete 10W audio power stage for guitar use - would this work?
Hi everyone, I don't know if this is a suitable newsgroup for this sort of thing. I've been posting in alt.guitar.amps mostly, but I am interested in hearing from more of an electronics point of view. I guess I'm just wondering - what do you guys think of this circuit? Workable, buildable? Anyway I was simu... 20 Dec 2008 00:58
PICAXE 08-M (12F683) Input buffering for ESD protection
I am designing a small telemetry board for a high altitude rocket launch. I am using a 08-M and want to protect 3 input ports from ESD, because the telemetry is also part of the recovery beacon, current consumption is a concern as I would like to have battery life extend to days or weeks on a CR123 battery. For my ... 10 Dec 2008 06:25
Tektronix MSO2024
I have a little too much cash leftover for the year-end and nowhere to invest it; so I was thinking of investing in myself by getting some better measurement equipment. Is the Tektronix MSO2024 a good buy or good bye (to your money;-) ... 26 Dec 2008 08:48
12V LED dimmer/timing circuit advice required, please!
Hi, all. Relative newb here - relative in the sense that I used to dabble in some electronics as a youngster and did some electronics theory in A- level physics but that don't make me an expert as such. Okay, so onto my problem. I bought a set of these the other day: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Kitchen-Lighting/Ac... 7 Dec 2008 10:34

NE162 mixer: input/output impedance in balanced mode?
Hi, Could someone please clarify the input and output impedance requirements when using the NE162 in a balanced configuration - that is using a balanced transformer at the input (pins1&2) and output (pins 4&5). The datasheet mentions 1.5K impedance at each input and output terminal, but does this mean a transform... 23 Nov 2008 18:54
The world has never seen such freezing heat
The world has never seen such freezing heat By Christopher Booker, UK Telegraph, 16/11/2008 A surreal scientific blunder last week raised a huge question mark about the temperature records that underpin the worldwide alarm over global warming. On Monday, Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS),... 26 Dec 2008 03:21
