As per my previous question, I am in addition NOW have problems when I start
Front Page from the Quick Launch Icon. It immediately wants to install
something. I cancel that and it opens. Annoying but doesn't prevent it
from opening. But it has been installed and uninstalled so much, I have it
crossed up somewhere.

I am removing it again. I have checked Reg Edit and see Front Page keys are
clearly marked. Is it safe to remove any and all keys that say Front Page?

When I open Front Page or click on a front page file, the Windows Installer
pops up, "Preparing To Install" The next install window says "installing
componants for Office Front Page 2003" on the frame, and within the window
it says "installing: Microsoft Front Page Feature" When I cancel any of
those windows, Front Page opens.

I installed it from my DVD drive, I selected a complete install. The only
thing I did that I think could be a problem is to check to remove
installation files from the Front Page setup as the install was completed.
That has never happed in the past when cleaning the install files, so not
sure that would do it.

Also, my Front Page 2003 has Service Pac 3 installed for Front Page and MS
Office 2003. I also have installed the file conversion package for FP 2003.
I cannot find any other updates.

Why not let if finish installing?

Do you know what you are doing in the Registry? 'Cause if you don't you're
gonna cause more problems for yourself.

Yes I know what I am doing in the registry. I would of course prefer to
have a list of registry entries from Front Page 2003, but a backup, and a
lot of respect for the registry and what it can do, makes me very careful.
Unfortunately Misrosoft [and Norton] have made it very necessary to fix some
situations by registry editing. I hate it. But I do it. I have killed a
computer by using a third party registry editor, but not by editing the
registry myself. Live and learn since Windows 95a. And before that, a DOS
machine [8088 maybe]. I appreciate your concern. The registry is NOT for
everyone. And I am sure you hardly every recommend it in here or help
anyone do it.

But onto the problem. I do and I have allowed that Windows Installer to
complete. I have allowed it to complete with the disc in the DVD drive and
without it in the DVD drive. I wish I knew what it wanted. It doesn't care
that I let it complete. So when I am working, I don't waste time letting it
finish.
