From: Greg on 14 Feb 2010 12:20 I must have installed my website foco.org using frontpage 2003 incorrectly on my new computer, because I cannot create new pages. I can just correct existing ones and I have to click the "Remote Web site" tab on the bottom before I can make these changes. I used to be able to start Frontpage from the "Folders" view, create whatever I want then save it. It would then make the changes or additions to my site. Looking at my "Folder list in the upper left corner it has http://foco.org which is supposed to be my Remote site not Local, is this my problem? When I go to create a page using my "Attach Dynamic Web template" the folder options poo up on the screen for a second and disappears. I tried to publish from my website to my computer, but it tells me it cannot, because the local and the remote cannot be the same. I tried renaming the local, but the option is grey so I can't select it. I also tried to remove Frontpage totally, but that is not working either.
From: Ronx on 14 Feb 2010 13:11 Open FrontPage If a website opens, use File->Close Site to close it. Now use File->New In the task pane choose More web site templates Choose Empty web site and type in where you want the site - say c:\mywebs\foco Click OK and the website will be created. Click the Remote Web site tab at the bottom of the main panel Click Remote Web Site Properties Select FrontPage or SharePoint Services (if foco.org has FrontPage extensions) In the remote web site location box type http://foco.org Click OK Enter credentials for the web site (username and password) - click OK At bottom right , select Remote to Local Click Publish Web Site You now have a copy of your website on your PC. When you open this copy, make sure you open the site located at c:\mywebs\foco (or wherever you created the site). You cannot publish from one site to the SAME site - remember you have opened the remote site already and have edited it. > > I tried renaming the local, but the option is grey so I can't select it.
