Hello.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question. Please let me know,
if there's a better place.

I have provided some GPRS network and connection settings by providing a
provisioning CAb-file with according CM_GPRSEntries.

After executing the CAB-file only some of the provided entries are
immediately visible in the GUI and active.
I need to perform a soft-reset of the device to make all of the entries
visible and active.

The same seems to be true, when it comes to providing registry settings.

So my question is: Is there any way to force a "refresh" of the GUI after
having provided Procvisioning data?

Many thanks in advance for every hint.

Best regards,

Roberto Rocco.

Your assesment is correct. If you make basic system changes in the registry,
the device is going to have to reboot to read them. That isn't to say every
registry setting requires a reboot, because programs can get data out of the
registry any time, like when they are launched.
Can't give you a real good answer about how, but I can certainly tell you it
is possible, programatically to invoke a reset/reboot. I've had installs do
that. They had darn sure warn me about it and give me the option to cancel
and do it later though. You might try asking this in
microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer. You will find more folks there with
the skills to point you in the right direction.

Hello Sven,

thank you for your fast reply. Yes, I suspected this, but I hoped there was
a way to make those changes on the fly...
The hope dies last... :-)

Many thanks,

Roberto.

Don't let hope die with me. I'm not a developer. Check with the guys at
microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer and see if they have a technique.
