First, I'm a newbie when it comes to Project, so I've included as much
info as possible regarding my problem.

I'm getting the error upon opening project 2007 for the first time
since adding the last technical refresh. This was the install order:

1. XP, MS Updates
2. Office 2007 Professional, Visio 2007, Project 2007, SHarepoint
Designer 2007
3. Corresponding technical refreshes in same order. They're listed
under add/remove programs, and the program splash screen displays B2TR.

Upon opening Project I get "Project could not open Global.MPT. To
restore the original Global.mpt, re-run setup & then select repair. You
may also need to delete the copy of the Global.mpt in your personal
folder. This folder can be found at c:\documents and
settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\MS Project\12\1033."

Since my understanding of the technical refresh is that they can't be
re-installed - and I was unsure if the error message referred to the
original Project setup or the technical refresh - I haven't done that.

I have deleted the original (and only, as far as search found)
global.mpt file. Upon loading Project, it recreated the file, but still
gives me the same error message. I checked my user file referenced in
the error message, and there was no global.mpt file there, so I copied
the newly created file there - still get the error message.

Since I have recieved this error message, I have not saved changes to
the temporary global.mpt when prompted by the planning wizard.

This is an unactivated copy of Project, but it still says I can run it
10 more times.

Word, Visio, etc all run fine - Project is the only one giving me
trouble.

Thanks for any help!

For any who suffer from this problem, turns out its the Norton office
plugin. Apparently its not '07 ready yet. Disable the plugin and all
will be right with the world.
